OUR MOVEMENT

What We Do

Women and Children

The Community has a primary objective of enhancing the social connections among women in Glasgow. This is achieved through the development of home-based businesses for women, active engagement of women and children with local organizations that offer location-specific services and activities, and the establishment of social programs designed to foster stronger relationships among Sudanese children.

Sports

The initiative involves establishing a Sudanese community football team and ensuring they have access to the required equipment, thereby supporting Sudanese athletes. Additionally, the project focuses on promoting the participation of youth in various sports activities. To further engage the community, online meetings will be conducted through platforms like Zoom, aiming to raise awareness about the significance of sports in fostering a healthy lifestyle and more.

Culture

The executive committee's objective is to actively involve the Sudanese community through the organization of cultural events that encompass music, theatrical performances, and poetry contests, showcasing the rich diversity of Sudanese ethnicity within the city of Glasgow. Additionally, the committee plans to arrange entertainment nights for families during bank holidays and other occasions, providing opportunities for community members to come together and enjoy recreational activities.

Society

The Executive Office is committed to addressing challenges that families encounter, with a focus on promoting family cohesion and providing assistance to the community in matters related to immigration and asylum. Additionally, the community offers translation services for essential government services such as council tax, benefits, and school transport. Detailed information regarding these services will be made available on our website.
