About Us
Sudanese Community in Glasgow is a charitable organization that was established in 2005 with a clear mission to implement initiatives that have a lasting impact. Over the years, our organization has achieved significant transformations through a diverse range of activities, including events, webinars, social engagements, cultural programs, sports activities, and workshops. These endeavors are meticulously planned and executed by our dedicated members who share a common commitment to effecting positive change within our community.
Our aims
Our organization is dedicated to providing essential mental and emotional support to the Sudanese community in Glasgow.
We strive to establish a strong connection between the Sudanese people in Glasgow and their home country, Sudan, by actively addressing Sudanese cultural and social values, as well as staying informed about current issues affecting Sudan.
Furthermore, we work diligently to promote the integration of Sudanese individuals into the local community and public life in Scotland and the UK. This involves fostering relationships, encouraging participation, and facilitating engagement opportunities.
We are steadfast in our commitment to combatting hate crimes, employment exploitation, and any form of discrimination against our community members. Our efforts extend to providing crucial mental, emotional, social, and legal aid and advice to victims who have experienced such injustices.
In addition, we recognize the importance of educating the new generation and the local community about Sudanese culture, heritage, and social values. We actively support cultural exchange and integration initiatives by collaborating with local authorities, heritage organizations, and educational institutions such as Glasgow museums, Heritage of Scotland, schools, colleges, and universities.
Lastly, we strive to prevent crimes within our community by raising awareness about life in Scotland and its laws. By disseminating information and resources, we empower individuals to make informed choices and lead fulfilling and lawful lives.
