Each year, Citizens Advice helps give millions of people the knowledge and confidence to find a way forward. They do this by providing advice, education and support, and influencing policies and practices that affect the clients.
Citizens Advice aim to help people find a way forward. As a service they:

Benefits
CAB provide legal advice about the benefits to make sure that you get all the help that you're entitled to.
Help if on a low income, Sick or disabled people and carers, Universal Credit, Child Benefit, Support for mortgage interest (SMI), Claiming benefits if you're from the EU, Bereavement and funeral benefits, Coronavirus – getting benefits if you’re self-isolating and British and Irish citizens
Work

Debt and money
Keeping on top of your money is a very important aspect of most people's lives. Sometimes unexpected events can cause real money problems. CAB provide information for you to check how well you are managing your money and then what you can do if you do have some problems. They explain what types of money issues might affect you, like getting a mortgage, and also what options there are for getting out of debt and who can help you.

Many people face problems with a service provider and they do not know their rights. Dealing with family problems can be very difficult. Find out what your rights are if your relationship has broken down, for example whether you can stay in the family home or who the children should live with. You can also find out how to deal with things like making a will, registering a birth or changing your name, and where else to go for help.
Housing
Housing issues will always arise and therefore you need to know your rights and responsibilities. You could also find yourself threatened with eviction if you can't cope with your mortgage payments.

Immigration
The rules about who can come from other countries to live in the UK are very complicated. CAB provide information about immigration rules and where to go for more help and they cover the following topics: Applying to the EU Settlement Scheme, Getting visas for family members, Getting a visitor visa, Applying for British citizenship, Benefits, services and your immigration status, Problems with a visa, Asylum and refugees, Trafficking, Deportation and living in the UK illegally, Windrush scheme.

Problems about health care range from knowing what you are entitled to from the NHS to how to complain if the service is poor.
